Overview

The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot is a targeted PR program that helps fill ongoing labor shortages in Canada’s agri-food industry. It offers a direct pathway to permanent residence for non-seasonal, experienced workers in key agricultural and food production sectors. This pilot supports Canada’s essential supply chains while helping foreign workers settle long-term.

Who Can Apply?

You may qualify if you:

  • Have at least 1 year of full-time, non-seasonal work experience in Canada (within the last 3 years) in an eligible agri-food occupation

  • Are currently employed in Canada under a valid Employer-Specific Work Permit

  • Have a job offer for a permanent, full-time position in an eligible occupation

  • Meet language (CLB 4) and education (high school or equivalent) requirements

Can provide proof of settlement funds (unless already working in Canada)

Eligible Industries & Job Roles

The program focuses on key sectors like:

  • Meat processing (e.g., industrial butchers, food processing laborers)

  • Greenhouse, nursery, and floriculture production (e.g., general farm workers, harvesting laborers)

  • Animal production (excluding aquaculture) (e.g., livestock workers)

Job offers must be outside of Quebec and meet wage and labor standards.
