Overview

Canada values family unity. The Family Sponsorship program allows Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor eligible family members to join them and become permanent residents of Canada.
Whether you’re bringing your spouse, children, or parents, this pathway is designed to make family reunification easier and more secure.

You must be nominated by a Canadian province or territory to apply for permanent residence through the PNP. There are two main ways to apply:

  • Dependent children (biological or adopted, under age 22)

  • Parents and grandparents (through the PGP or Super Visa)
  • Orphaned relatives (in very limited cases: siblings, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren)

Sponsors must be 18+ and demonstrate the ability to financially support the person they’re sponsoring.
